About Us

Original music, Classic/Hard Rock to Alternative Rock Music. We will play covers, but don't expect it to be your typical cover band version.

JT, singer, born in Uruguay, at age 15, moved to the USA. He worked on his craft a local music school and played in a local band, Anubis. At age 28, he took a left turn and moved to the home town of the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame, Cleveland, Ohio, practicing guitar and singing at any establishment he could knock the doors down. Some of JT's influences include: Iron Maiden, UFO, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Saxon and pretty much Heavy Metal in general.
Jeff, guitar, grew up living around the Atlanta area all his life. He has played in several local bands around Atlanta, most noted, Smash Nova. His band put together an EP, Smash Nova, and played around the local scene, but as good things often do, that came to an end. Jeff floated around the music scene, playing here and there for a few years, waiting for the right opportunity. He bumped into Bill, they jammed a few sundays, as a guitar/ drum duo, and decided to move forward with a band called Voytek. Voytek went through a sundry of musicians and lead to the current line up of Stoney Groove. Some of Jeff's favorite music include ACDC, Drivin' 'n Cryin', Van Halen, Jeff Beck, Hendrix, Clapton and The Winery Dogs.
Bill, drummer/backing vocals, born in Illinois and transplanted to the south in the 90's, Started playing Drums at age 13. Growing up during the Grunge Era of music, you might expect this beat keeper to follow in the footsteps of some alt rocker or shoe gazer, but no, Bill is a product of Led Zepplin, The Who, Cream and the like, clearly born in the wrong era of music. His hard driving beats keep Stoney Groove in line and on the right track. Bill has performed with the Roswell highschool concert band, symphonic band, symphony orchestra, jazz band and marching band. Also, he is a former member of successful Atlanta R&B Soul group, The Divide, gaining recognition and called upon often to support international acts as the came through Atlanta, GA.
